A Shed of One's Own

"A woman must have money and a room of one's own if she is to write fiction." Virginia Wolf

And if a woman is going to garden then she needs a shed of her own. I do have a shed of my own. I thought I would share some photos.

The steel bench in the background has been moved outside
and is now my potting bench.

I am very grateful to have my own garden storage space. It helps keep me organised.

  1. The first thing I noticed was how much bench space you have and it's not cluttered. I like spaces like that as I can function better. We have a workbench in the garage however my husband and I are opposites and he has the whole bench and shelves cluttered. Our son built a little shelf for my garden supplies which I keep undercover in the veggie patch. If I organise and pack things up each time it is just enough for me at the moment.

    1. Well the steel bench in the photo is not in the shed any longer. Don bought bench in order to set up a potting up area for me. He started work on the potting up area for me a little while back, and though the area is not yet finished I have been using it for sowing seeds and potting up cuttings.

    1. It's more a case of swings and roundabouts Chel. My garden shed might be tidy but my craft cupboard is a disaster area at the moment. I don't even know where to start when it comes to re-organising its contents.

    1. Don and I are a bit different when it comes to how we like things organised. That is why I decided I needed my own garden shed. I hate wasting time looking for things when I am trying to work on a project. Whereas Don tends to leave tools in the area he has been using them.

    1. I do enjoy life more when things are neat and organised. And I do enjoy bringing order from chaos, it is very satisfying. Though sometimes I wish there was a little less need for it, and that I had better systems in place for managing things.

  5. All my gardening stuff is under our house. Hubby put up some really long and wide shelves and everything is on those. I like it's all in one place, out of view, but close to the garden when I need it. Meg:)

    1. Having things together in one place ready for when one needs to use them makes so much difference in the way one's day plays out, in my opinion.

  6. Your shed is so organised, and looks great. I have a 3x3 shed too, and it's not so well organised. Because we've got TOO much stuff in it. So we're working on building another 3x3 shed, to fix that. It's annoying when I have to move things out of the shed, just so I can access other things in the back. But hey, you always work with what you've got. I really like your set-up though. :)
