Living deliberately and creating a self-supporting home.
"There shall be eternal summer in the grateful heart." - Celia Thaxter
That's a beautiful quote, Sherri. Gratitude for the blessing in one's life is so important. Meg:)
Thanks Meg. Being a Sarah Ban Breathnach fan I have tried over the years to keep a gratitude journal. When I do this it helps focus my attention on the good in my life.
Happy first day of Summer, Sherri! Do you look forward to it, or is it the season you dread, just as so many up here dread Winter?HugsJane
Our seasons begin on the first calendar day of the month, so our Summer officially began on December 1. Our summers are very hot and humid. I look forward to winter as ours is very mild. Most people around here don't own overcoats, as a light cardigan suffices most winter days. Sometimes we have to rug up with a scarf and a heavy cardigan though.
Thank you for reminding me, that it is also Summer Solstice!!!Living in the Northern Hemisphere, I tend to forget.Blessings of Summer Solstice to you,Luna Crone
Thank you. Blessings to you too.
Summer solstice is time for reflection Sherri. And on a less spiritual note, its a reminder that the hot weather is half way through. Yay.. but I guess my heart is not therefore grateful according to the writer of this quote. ;-) My daughter was born on this day 31 years ago, a summer solstice baby who has developed an uncanny awareness of nature and, by osmosis, (from this Bio-dynamic practicing mother) an interest in Rudolf Steiner who's beliefs are very much centered around the solstices. Happy Christmas to you and your family dear Sherri. X
