Placidity and Peace

Go placidly amid the noise and haste,
And remember what peace there may be in silence.

  1. ...it is still a beautiful world. Be cheerful. Strive to be happy.

One of the best poems ever written.

  2. Sherri, that reminds me of many years ago when Desiderata was really popular and was heard around the place all the time . Aah...memories!

    1. I remember too Chel. Desiderata wall plaques and Desiderata bookmarks etc.
I am going to try and remember to go placidly through the shopping centres and supermarkets in the lead up to Christmas.

  3. My father used to recite it perfectly word for word, usually after a couple of shandies, at our annual Christmas Eve parties. It's a lovely piece of writing, by which to live a gentle and simple life.
